About AAAI Records
AAAI Records is the product of a vision shared by students, staff, and friends of the African American Arts Institute (AAAI). Since the IU Soul Revue was founded in 1971, laying the foundation for the AAAI and its other ensembles (African American Dance Company and African American Choral Ensemble), live performance has been our primary focus. Yet, during this 50 plus year span, the AAAI periodically engaged in audio and video productions distributed through sales or television. Realizing the value of these productions to our students, audiences, and to our legacy, we decided to make the production of audio and/or video productions an annual/ongoing endeavor. As an added component of the African American Arts Institute, AAAI Records provides a platform for making this vision a reality.
