African American Dance Company Fall 2022 Try Outs

Seeking students of all backgrounds who want to study and perform dance of the African diaspora—jazz, modern, hip hop, African dance forms, and more.

Try Out Requirements

All backgrounds and experience levels are welcome at the audition. No previous dance training is required to audition.

Be prepared to learn, move, and sweat; and to remain for the entire audition. Do not prepare a routine.

Face masks are required indoors. Wear non-constricting clothing.

You must register online to participate in auditions. Click the button below to complete the auditions registration form.

Watch the African American Dance Company, directed by Stafford C. Berry Jr., perform "Doundounbah." This traditional dance of strength from the Sousous ethnic group of Guinea is used to share our embodied strength of will and determination.
