How great it is to be back in-person after 3 years of being apart! This summer's group of artists took on a big task by participating with Camp S.O.U.L. We have all laughed, cried, learned, and worked diligently to bring you this energized performance.
If the quarantine taught us anything, it taught us that we were not meant to do life alone. Having to spend so many days with only the walls to share our feelings, many of us became lonely, depressed, empty, feeling loss of love and life. Even though it is taking time to adjust, we are now able to share our experiences understanding the continuities between various households and various emotions.
So we, Camp S.O.U.L. summer 2022, now come from “Behind the Fourth Wall” and share with you our journal, our experiences, our heart. Enjoy the show.

Founded by Dr. Tyron Cooper, Camp S.O.U.L. is a 6-day camp held on the IU Bloomington campus for high school students. Students study and perform African American music forms—Negro Spirituals, Blues, Jazz, Gospel, R&B, Soul, and Hip Hop—instructed by music professionals, IU faculty, staff, and graduate students. While developing artistically, students gain important information about academics and financial aid at Indiana University.
High school students (grades 9–12) can apply to participate in Camp S.O.U.L. during June 2023 on the IU Bloomington campus. Sign up to let us know you're interested and receive more information.
